Pembinaan Dinas Sosial Terhadap Anak Putus Sekolah Di Asrama Putra Marind (Aspuma)

Abstrak

Education is one of the keys to realizing the goals and ideals of the nation and state, as stated in the fourth paragraph of the preamble to the 1945 constitution, namely making the nation's life intelligent. Many children cannot continue their education or have dropped out of school due to their families' immensely worrying economic conditions. One problem in Merauke Regency is that children who have dropped out of school are increasingly receiving more attention from the local  government  through  social  services.  This  research  aims  to  describe  social  services guidance for out-of-school children in Merauke Regency. In this research, the author used a qualitative descriptive approach. To obtain research data, researchers interviewed 13 informants as samples. Data analysis uses interactive data analysis, and data analysis techniques use three stages:  data  reduction,  data  presentation,  and  conclusion  drawing/verification.  From  the research results, the author found that the guidance provided by social services for out-of-school children in general cannot be considered optimal. There are several program indicators; the Social Service must improve its program, and, in a few places, it is hoped that it can also reach all other shelters for out-of-school children. Researchers also suggest that the government pays more serious attention to underprivileged children by assisting with scholarships, especially for indigenous Papuan students (OAP).
