HUBUNGAN KEPATUHAN TRANSFUSI DARAH DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA PASIEN ANAK THALASEMIA MAYOR DI RUMAH SAKIT SENTRA MEDIKA CIBINONG

Abstrak

Thalassemia Major is a chronic disease common in Mediterranean and Southeast Asian countries, with increasing prevalence. Compliance is the main treatment in undergoing routine transfusions in Thalassemia patients. Thalassemia patients are advised to undergo routine blood transfusions, maintain health and endurance so that patients can continue their activities as usual. This study aims to determine blood transfusion compliance and quality of life in Thalassemia Major patients. This type of research is quantitative research with a correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study used non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires for blood transfusion compliance and quality of life with the PedsQL questionnaire. The population in this study was 50 patient populations who visited the Thalassemia unit of Sentra Medika Cibinong Hospital. The sample in this study amounted to 45 people. The data were processed and analyzed in stages according to the research objectives using computerization. The results of the study showed that, the results of the Gamma test, obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.570 p value = 0.006 or <0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a moderate and significant positive correlation between blood transfusion compliance and patient quality of life, so that if patients have a high level of blood transfusion compliance, they will have a good quality of life.
