Abstrak

The postpartum period is a critical phase for mothers due to physical and psychological changes. High anxiety during newborn care may negatively affect maternal and infant health. Factors such as maternal knowledge, spousal support, and maternal age are suspected to influence postpartum anxiety levels. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, spousal support, and age with the level of maternal anxiety in postpartum newborn care. This study employed a cross-sectional analytic design. A total of 100 postpartum mothers were selected through purposive sampling in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu District. Data were collected through interviews using structured questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p=0.000), spousal support (p=0.000), and age (p=0.000) with maternal anxiety levels in newborn care. Mothers with low knowledge, low spousal support, and at-risk age were more likely to experience severe anxiety. Knowledge, spousal support, and age are significant factors influencing postpartum maternal anxiety. Educational interventions and family-based social support should be strengthened in maternal and child health services to reduce postpartum anxiety.
