Hubungan Anestesi dengan Kejadian Hipotermia pada Pasien Post Operatif di Recovery Room RSUD Kabupaten Bekasi

Abstrak

Background: Hypothermia is a common complication in post-operative patients due to the effects of anesthesia and exposure to ambient temperatures in the operating room and recovery room. Hypothermia can hinder the recovery process and increase the risk of post-surgical complications. Objective: To determine the relationship between the type of anesthesia and the incidence of hypothermia in post-operative patients in the Recovery Room of Bekasi District Hospital. Method: This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design. A sample of 65 respondents was selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected through observation and patient temperature measurements, and then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Result: A total of 49 respondents (75.4%) experienced hypothermia. In the spinal anesthesia group, 93.0% of patients experienced hypothermia, compared to 40.9% in the general anesthesia group. The chi-square test showed a p-value <0.001 (p <0.05) with a Phi coefficient of 0.572, indicating a moderate to strong relationship. Conclution: There is a significant relationship between anesthesia and the incidence of hypothermia in postoperative patients. Spinal anesthesia often carries a higher risk of hypothermia than general anesthesia. Routine body temperature monitoring and hypothermia prevention are recommended for postoperative patients.
