Method: This research was conducted using a survey method involving 200 respondents aged 16-18 years from two senior high schools in Pontianak Timur. Data was collected using two types of structured questionnaires. The first instrument was the validated Indonesian version of the Internet Addiction Test (IAT). The second instrument was designed by the researchers to explore patterns of internet and social media use. Data was analysed using quantitative descriptive methods. The most dominant online activities were accessing social media (93%), chatting (87%), completing school task (83.5%), and watching videos (78%). Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok were the most frequently used social media platforms, while WhatsApp was the main communication application. Based on IAT scores, 47% of respondents were categorized as mild addiction, 46% as normal, and 7% moderate addiction, with an average scire of 29.02. Conclusion: This study concludes that although most adolescent are within the normal usage category, approximately 54% show signs of mild to moderate internet addiction. Therefore, digital literacy, time management, and family support are essential steps to prevent internet addiction.
