PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TPS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA DI SD NEGERI 6 BUKIT BATU KECAMATAN BUKIT BATU

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the problem of low learning outcomes of students in mathematics at SD Negeri 6 Bukit Batu, Bukit Batu Subdistrict. Students are not accustomed to daring to ask questions or express opinions during learning activities; this happens because the learning atmosphere often makes students feel bored. Therefore, the teacher tried to use the cooperative learning model of TPS type as a learning media in order to create an interesting and fun learning atmosphere. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning process and enhance the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 6 Bukit Batu in the academic year 2017/2018, through the implementation of the cooperative learning model of TPS type. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle conducted twice. The subjects of the study were students of class IV, as many as 26 people, consisting of 15 male students and 11 female students, conducted in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year in April 2018. Techniques of collecting data included observation sheets, test sheets during the action, and documentation of learning activities. The result of learning in cycle 1 obtained an average of 74.28, and cycle 2 obtained an average of 85.20 in mathematics lessons. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of TPS type can improve the learning outcomes of students of grade IV at SD Negeri 6 Bukit Batu. This is evident from the significant average increase in student learning outcomes in cycle II. This success is supported by the readiness of teachers in designing learning and implementing the learning process according to plan.
