Abstrak

This Community Service Program was conducted with a small-scale emping enterprise as the partner to improve production productivity and business competitiveness through the implementation of appropriate technology. Prior to the program, the partner encountered several challenges, including manual production processes that limited production capacity and efficiency, inconsistent product thickness and quality, and inadequate packaging and labeling that did not meet market standards, thereby reducing product competitiveness. This program aimed to enhance productivity, product quality, and marketing performance through the introduction of an emping pressing machine and a sealing machine, accompanied by training on packaging design, product labeling, and branding development. The program adopted a participatory approach consisting of problem identification, program socialization, technology transfer, technical training, mentoring in machine operation, packaging development, and evaluation of program outcomes. The results demonstrated that the partner successfully acquired the skills required to operate both the emping pressing machine and the sealing machine independently. The implementation of these technologies accelerated the production process, increased production capacity, and produced emping with more uniform size and thickness. Furthermore, the use of the sealing machine improved packaging quality by producing airtight, hygienic, and more attractive packaging, thereby extending product shelf life and enhancing consumer confidence. Assistance in packaging design and product labeling also strengthened product identity and increased its market value. Overall, the program contributed to improving production efficiency, enhancing product quality, strengthening the partner's technological capabilities, and increasing the competitiveness and market opportunities of the emping enterprise. These outcomes demonstrate that the adoption of appropriate technology combined with business capacity building can support the sustainable development of small-scale food enterprises.
