Abstrak

The Covid-19 pandemic is a blow to the community's economy. To cover the economic problems caused by the pandemic, people have to do various things, including applying for loans. It is a particular concern that Indonesia, as a Muslim-majority country, still practices interest-based finance, especially if it is done illegally. Maqashid al-Shariat is an indicator to measure the level of welfare of illegal online loans. This research was processed using a descriptive qualitative approach. It has been found that the practice of illegal borrowing, which was initially intended to overcome welfare problems, actually worsens the welfare problems already facing society. The practice of pinjol cannot meet the welfare indicators of maqashid al-syariat. In other words, illegal borrowing has a negative impact on welfare indicators in the form of maintaining, religion, soul, sense of honor/family and property.
