Pengaruh Financial Technology terhadap Perilaku Keuangan Mahasiswa di Era Digital
Abstrak
This article analyzes the impact of Financial Technology (FinTech) usage on students' financial management, focusing on three key variables: usage frequency, types of services used, and motivation for using FinTech. A quantitative approach was applied using a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale, and data were analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results indicate that both frequency of use and motivation have a positive and significant influence on students’ financial management, particularly in terms of consistent expense tracking, structured budgeting, and increased financial literacy. However, certain FinTech services such as online lending showed a negative impact by increasing the risk of uncontrollable consumer debt. Easy access to loans without thorough verification has led some students into short-term debt cycles with high interest rates, undermining their financial stability. These findings highlight that FinTech can be an effective tool in supporting student financial management when used selectively and wisely. Therefore, the study recommends the implementation of risk-based financial literacy education to equip students with critical understanding and responsible usage of FinTech services, ultimately fostering smarter and more sustainable financial behavior.
