FUNGSI PUBLIC RELATIONS SEBAGAI FASILITATOR KOMUNIKASI MENJEMBATANI HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEMERINTAH DAN MASYARAKAT (STUDI KASUS : FENOMENA DESAIN KAUM ILLUMINATI PADA JAM GADANG)

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the role of Public Relations of the Bukittinggi City Government to optimize its function as a Public Relations practitioner, by becoming a communication facilitator in bridging the relationship between the government and the community regarding the Illuminati design phenomenon at the Jam Gadang. This happened because many debated by netizens on various social media and has become a byword in the community. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a case study method. Data collection is done through in-depth interviews. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it was concluded that the Public Relations of the City Government of Bukittinggi had become a good communication facilitator as a liaison between the organization and the public, by holding a coordination meeting followed by the DPRD, Related SOPD, Planning Consultants and Community Representatives. This function is known as "boundary spanning". When Public Relations maintains two-way communication and facilitates problems, removing obstacles in relationships, and keeping communication channels open. So that the conflict and anxiety felt by the community can be resolved properly.
