HUBUNGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS IX SMP NEGERI 3 TONDANO

Abstrak

This study aims to explore the association between students’ learning motivation and their academic performance in mathematics among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. The research population consisted of 80 students, from which a proportional stratified sample of 67 was drawn. Employing a correlational ex post facto research design, data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation. The findings revealed a statistically significant and positive correlation between learning motivation and mathematics achievement, indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.626, which surpasses the critical value of 0.244. Furthermore, the calculated t-value of 6.42 exceeds the critical t-value of 2.000, supporting the conclusion that learning motivation significantly impacts students’ mathematics academic outcomes.
